A golden ring in the shape of a crown, the Maeve is studded with tsavorite garnet gems.
As a Queen of Connacht in Irish mythology she is depicted as forceful, determined, strategic, and ambitious - the classic warrior queen. In Irish her name is written Medb, meaning “intoxicating”, connecting her to the drink of honey liquor, mead. With the coronation ceremony of regents in Ireland involving the drinking of mead, her domain covers not only fertility and earth but also sovereignty itself. Poetry describes her as a wolf woman with fair hair, and such beauty that men lost their courage upon laying eyes on her.
Details: Handcrafted and individually cast. Each piece is unique, which we believe is what gives it its beauty. Nickel and lead free. Dimensions: height of crown 0.7cm. Band width 0.4cm.
